The ASOR Blog Terms of Use

Thank you for your interest in the ASOR blog. The intent of the ASOR blog is to share information from the ASOR community. We invite you to submit comments or posts for consideration.

ASOR reserves the right to remove any comment or user from the ASOR blog when it violates the terms and conditions of use listed below or does not serve ASOR’s mission “to initiate, encourage and support research into, and public understanding of, the peoples and cultures of the Near East from the earliest times.”

  • Be respectful. Do not use obscene, racist, or sexually explicit language. Personal attacks are not permitted, nor are impersonations or aliases. ASOR reserves the right to remove submissions that are abusive, hateful, or defame or insult anyone. ASOR also reserves the right to remove submissions that are off-topic.
  • Solicitations, advertisements and political endorsements are not allowed. Posts of a commercial nature designed to promote a service or product will be deleted. You may link to other informational Web sites when relevant to the discussion. You may not use the ASOR name to endorse or promote any product, opinion, cause or political candidate. Representation of your personal opinions as institutionally endorsed by ASOR is strictly prohibited.
  • Opinions and errors are your own. You understand that all content posted to http://asorblog.org/ is the sole responsibility of the individual who originally posted the content. You understand, also, that all opinions expressed by users of this site are expressed strictly in their individual capacities, and not as representatives of ASOR. You agree that ASOR will not be liable, under any circumstances and in any way, for any errors or omissions, loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of use of any content posted on this site. You agree that you must evaluate and bear all risks associated with the use of any content, including any reliance on the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of such content.
  • Honor copyright laws. You may not post copyrighted material to the ASOR blog unless you have express permission to do so or your use of the material is a fair use, fair dealing, or otherwise authorized by law. This includes but is not limited to text, photos, images, and screenshots.

  • Permission to reproduce. By participating in the ASOR blog you expressly grant ASOR permission to use, reproduce, prepare derivative works, and distribute, any posted material or submissions.

  • Copyright complaints. ASOR respects your intellectual property and the intellectual property of others, and we require that our users do, as well.
